So, over 5 years ago, I got all excited about building this awesome fire pit. But, because we didn’t have the right tools, removing the grass turned into a never-ending, back-breaking chore. So, I gave up and left it half-finished. Luckily, Sunbelt Rentals offered me the perfect opportunity to finally tackle this area again with the right tools.
What Are The Dimensions of Your Fire Pit Area?
About 9×9 for now.. I might change my mind and make it larger, that’s the awesome thing about DIY you can change your mind whenever you want to.
Did You Remove The Gravel That Was Already there?
I removed some of it. Some of the areas I did a good job at covering it with the proper tarp before putting the gravel so those stayed. The parts where I did not and the gravel was just mixing with the dirt and grass and weed grew between the gravel, I removed that.
What Tools Did You Rent For your Fire Pit Area?
Sod Cutter– To easily remove the grass, this made it so much easier then having to dig out the grass by hand
Tiller– To loosen up the soil so we can level out the ground more easily.Ā
No, the tools are from Sunbelt Rentals, I was lucky to partner with them to try out these tools for my fire pit area. You can easily rent tools from them, they have so many options to choose from and their associates can help you figure out the right tools or equipments you need for your project.
