My new coping mechanism: collecting cute rocks. 🪨😂 My new coping mechanism: collecting cute rocks. 🪨😂

What’s the most random thing you’ve done to de stress lately?
One step closer to the backyard we’ve been dreamin One step closer to the backyard we’ve been dreaming about. 🖤

The @pergolux_us pergola completely transformed this space. Once all the prep work was done, putting the pergola together was honestly the easy part. Everything was clearly labeled, all the hardware was included, and with a couple of friends helping, we had it up in a day.

Of course, I had to add the matching slat wall... if you know me, you know I can’t resist a slat wall. 😆

We’ve already had weeks of rain since installing it, and the powder-coated aluminum has held up beautifully.

This is just one part of my backyard makeover series, and I can’t wait to show you what’s next! Use DanielsLUX to get $200 off of your Pergolux!
If you have walls, you need a stud finder. I’m co If you have walls, you need a stud finder.

I’m convinced EVERY home needs this tool, even if you’ve never touched a power drill.

I’ve used this stud finder in almost every DIY project, and it’s the reason my shelves, mirrors, and frames actually stay up.

Before I had one, I was literally guessing where studs were… until a shelf fell…

A stud finder makes hanging shelves, TVs, mirrors, and wall decor so much easier and safer.

Even if you don’t do major DIY, you should always anchor heavy items into a stud, this tool tells you exactly where they are so you can stop guessing.

Being a homeowner is expensive… learning new skill Being a homeowner is expensive… learning new skills is cheaper. 😂

Every project teaches me something new, and working with a sloped yard to build this deck definitely tested my sanity 😅

Have you ever DIY’d something just to save money?
I keep wondering why I’m always tired… Then I rem I keep wondering why I’m always tired…

Then I remember I keep starting projects that require moving thousands of pounds of dirt, gravel, and concrete. 😂

DIY is my therapy… even if it’s also the reason I’m exhausted.
Doing a full blown project in my house feels easie Doing a full blown project in my house feels easier than doing laundry. 🤣

Ripping out carpet on these stairs myself was a lot more work than hiring it out, but seeing the transformation come together made every staple, sore muscle, and trip to the hardware store worth it.

Meanwhile, the laundry basket upstairs is still judging me. 😂

Anyone else willing to tackle a full blown DIY project just to avoid folding clothes? 🙋🏽‍♀️
What started as a simple backyard project quickly What started as a simple backyard project quickly turned into digging trenches, leveling blocks, drilling footing holes, and mixing a whole lot of concrete.

I’ve never built retainer wall before so this has been a learning experience 😅

Next up: pouring the concrete pads for the pergola.

This might be our most embarrassing DIY project ye This might be our most embarrassing DIY project yet. 😅

We built this fire pit area 8 years ago… and then rebuilt it again a few years later.

The problem? We didn’t do a great job preventing weeds, and over time it turned into a giant mess that we never used.

So when I decided I wanted a pergola here, everything had to come out.

What I thought would be a simple pergola install quickly turned into building a retaining wall, pouring footings, and way more work than I expected. 😅

Good news: I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing, so you’re about to watch me figure it out in real time. 😂

Follow along to see if I figure it out 😅
