Spending Mother’s Day doing what I apparently do best… starting another backyard project 😅

At this point I genuinely don’t know how to relax without moving something, painting something, or convincing myself “this should only take a few hours” 😂

Honestly though… this kind of stuff is weirdly therapeutic for me. My mind feels calm, but I already know my body is going to regret this tomorrow 😭😂

Anyone else spend their weekend working on the house instead of resting?

Next thing I know I’m ripping up floors, tiling, building cabinets, painting walls, and somehow turning this into a full makeover 😂

And the crazy part? I’m still not done. So now I’m 6 weeks into my weekend makeover

“Small projects” NEVER stay small in this house? 😅

I finally found a way to keep them in place and honestly… I wish I knew about this sooner.

This is the Dominator Mulch Anchor from @bdcbrands and it made such a difference.

If you have rocks like this, you need this. It’ll save your sanity when you’re cleaning your yard.

And it gets even better… they just dropped a version made specifically for rock called the Rock Anchor 🙌🏽

Like just me, a project, and trying not to mess up my house😅

But this part… this feels full circle

My very first power tools were Ryobi… 14 years ago

So being invited to their headquarters, seeing my name up there, and meeting so many amazing creators and the RYOBI team… it honestly still doesn’t feel real

Crazy what can happen when you just start 🥹 and actually fall in love with it

If you told me 10 years ago I’d be here instead of doing what I went to school for… I would’ve laughed

Had the best time with some amazing creators 🥹

It finally warmed up and I had to take advantage 👀
but my laundry room is definitely judging me right now lol

This has been waking us up every weekend when we’re trying to sleep in… 😅 [AD]

I LOVE our barn door, but I didn’t think about the fact that the light from our bathroom window would come through the frosted glass early in the morning 🙃

So I added a @smartwingshome blackout blind and it made the biggest difference

It’s remote controlled, has a solar powered option (which I needed since there’s no outlet nearby 🙌), and I added side rails to block as much light as possible

Now it’s actually dark in the morning and we’re finally able to sleep in on the weekends 😭👏🏽

One of those small changes that makes a BIG difference.

Are you someone who needs it pitch black to sleep… or can you sleep through anything? 😅
