When my son was born, my mom put her life on hold

This Mother’s Day, I wanted to give her something that says thank you without needing words. So we turned the guest room that my son calls “Grandma’s room” into a space that reflects how much she means to us. 💐

We transformed “Grandma’s room” into a cozy space, and these @Cricut made plant markers were the perfect personal touch. 💚

I built a hidden door into our slat wall and it turned out even better than I imagined!

I wanted to create an accent wall on this wall. But that’s where our internet router is connected and couldn’t be moved.

So I designed and built a hidden storage within this slat accent wall

It took lots of trial and error figuring out what type of hinge to use and how to position the slat pieces so that the door would open with no issues but also look seamless and hidden

This might be one of my favorite DIYs

When my son was born, my mom put her life on hold for over a year to help take care of him. 💛 #Ad

This room, now called “Grandma’s room” by my son, slowly turned into a catch-all space. So for Mother’s Day, I transformed it into a cozy retreat for when she visits, as a small way to say thank you.

From fresh paint and a new slat accent wall to the final detail, a beautiful new door knob from @schlagelocks (Schlage Custom Bowery knob in Satin Brass), every part of this space was made with love.

This guest bedroom makeover is turning out so much better than I imagine.

I painted the accent wall black, built the frame for the shelf, clear-coated the slats.
