I’ve been itching to tear out that stone fireplace forever—it always bothered me that it wasn’t centered on the wall. Plus, I’ve been wanting to add more functional storage next to it that not only hides the clutter but also serves as a statement piece with floating shelves.

Tearing down the stone and cutting into the flooring was nerve-racking, but I’m so glad I did it! 🙌

It’s so easy to feel like your home needs to be exactly how you want it right when you move in, especially when you see people on social media decorating and furnishing their homes immediately.

But the reality is that it can take time, either because you haven’t found what you want or it just isn’t in the budget.

For us, it wasn’t in the budget to do it right away, which is why it took us over 7 years. We also saved thousands by doing it ourselves.

I have been wanting a single bowl sink since we moved into our home a few years ago. I never liked the double sink, especially with how small each side is. It was always a pain to clean large pots and pans.

I finally decided to take the chance of cutting our granite countertop and replacing our builder-grade double sink.

It’s been 6 months, and I regret NOTHING!
I can actually fit an entire baking pan in my sink to easily clean!

Do you prefer a double bowl sink or a single bowl sink?

So close to being done with the fireplace area! I can’t believe how different this space looks after we tore out our stone fireplace.

This DIY concrete fireplace had me wanting to pull my hair out at times. 🫠
